There are 2 generations being spoken of who overlap one another. :) To be included in the first generation, you'd a) have to be "anointed", b) have been old enough to "discern the events and signs of 1914". (allegedly!) So, to fulfill the criteria for being part of the 1st generation, an individual would have to have been born circa 1894. A generation, in anyone's language, (even the Bible's) is never based on the oldest living person. At a push, it's 70 years. Therefore the generation born in 1894 would effectively end circa 1964. Now it gets interesting! To overlap with the 1st generation, the 2nd generation of "anointed" would have to have been "anointed" when the overlapping took place. Again, they would not reasonably have been younger than 20 years of age when they were "anointed", making their year of birth, 1944! That now brings us to how old the 2nd generation should be now, give or take a couple of years; 1944 + 70 = 2014! This is, assuming that you dismiss what Jesus told his apostles that it was none of their business, and that Paul told the Thessalonians not to believe any stories about God's day already having started! (Acts 1:7: 2 Thess. 2:2)

"A person's own death wipes out their sins!", based on Romans 6:7.
So what did John the Baptist say when he saw Jesus? Something about 'the Lamb of God that....' oh I forget - couldn't have been important!

Is everyone required to be enrolled in the theocratic ministry school?
by hoser incan a publisher "drop out" and still be in good standing?.

An elder said during a Local Needs item that being on the Ministry School was effectively part of your worship to Jehovah! The reason he was saying it was because so many were missing their assignments, and several were not even on the School, making it likely that the second school was going to be scrapped! (that wouldn't have looked good to the Area Manager when he came to visit!) It had the desired effect - it frightened 2 or 3 to join the school and make up the numbers!

The Way I See It
by bobld indisfellowshipping is the equivalent of solitary confinement:.
just imagine, the leaders of some religions enforce this type of punishment.. solitary confinement-a person is isolated from any (family contact or friends).. it is employed as a form of punishment,to reform,to control and change behavoir.it is considered to be a form of psychological torture.. it causes anguish, provokes serious mental and physical health problems.
(thought of suicide).constitutes cruel, inhumane or degradinig treatment.. i only wish the aclu or human rights watch or the un would take action against religions that treat human being so cruelly..

w80 11/15 p. 7 Do Not Isolate Yourself - Isolation Is Unchristian
Isolation really is unchristian. It is divisive, puts a damper on zealous Christian works and limits communication. Cut off from others, the individual may become depressed and give in to doubts respecting trustworthy humans, even about God and the Scriptures.
They are pointing the finger at their own own corrupt and evil practice!

YOU ARE ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR LIES!
by The Searcher inthe following examples only serve to illustrate that when you assume total control over what people are told to believe, then be prepared to be exposed and ridiculed as liars, charlatans, and offspring of vipers when your perverted teachings crumble when held up to the real bible truth!
"now may the god of peace, who brought up from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an everlasting covenant, our lord jesus.
" (hebrews 13:20) "and i will conclude with them a covenant of peace; an indefinitely lasting covenant.

@ yadda yadda - I see your point, but IMHO I have experienced the downright blindedness exhibited by fellow Witnesses when discussing topics which can initiate 'Conversation Stoppers' - in their view.
However, with the examples I've highlighted, they cannot provide any defence for their given false teaching! The Scriptural proof is a hammer-blow!
For example, I got an elder's wife to explain the "New Scrolls" drivel, then I had her read the verses in Revelation 20. To her credit, (in front of him) she asked, "Why do we believe this then?" He never uttered a word!
We don't need to have eloquent arguments to reach people's hearts and minds - the Bible does it very easily! (Hebrews 4:12)
Such examples expose the GB's lies, and can plant seeds in some minds, not all!!

@ DATADOG - Yes!
But we're talking about the GB'S blatant lie that "foreigners" were not party to the Law Covenant, only "beneficiaries".
They then apply this falsehood as a parallel with the "other sheep" and the "anointed" to prove that only an elite group are party to the New Covenant!
Deuteronomy 29:10-15 flushes this sputum of a teaching right down to where it belongs - the cesspool of demonic teachings!

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE REALLY TEACH?
" Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an everlasting covenant, our Lord Jesus." (Hebrews 13:20) "And I will conclude with them a covenant of peace; an indefinitely lasting covenant." (Ezekiel 37:26)
WHAT DOES THE GB REALLY TEACH? - it-1 p. 524 - "Likewise, the new covenant will come to its end when all the anointed ones are resurrected to heavenly immortal life. w79 4/1 p. 31 - The new covenant will terminate with the glorification of the remnant who are today in that covenant mediated by Christ."
WHAT DOES THE BIBLE REALLY TEACH?
"YOU are all of YOU stationed today before Jehovah YOUR God, the heads of YOUR tribes, YOUR older men and YOUR officers, every man of Israel, YOUR little ones, YOUR wives, and your alien resident who is in the midst of your camp, from the gatherer of your wood to the drawer of your water, in order for you to enter into the covenant of Jehovah your God and his oath....(Deuteronomy 29:10-12)
WHAT DOES THE GB REALLY TEACH? - w98 2/1 p. 11 par. 13 - " When Jehovah made his covenant, it was only with Israel; those of the "vast mixed company," although present, were not named as participants."
WHAT DOES THE BIBLE REALLY TEACH?
Revelation 20:12 says, ".... and scrolls were opened........ And the dead were judged out of those things written in the scrolls according to their deeds."
Verse 12 only says 'scrolls', and that these scrolls will be used to judge the dead!
Verses 7-10 say that after Christ's 1000 reign is finished, Satan is released then eventually destroyed, and after his destruction the scrolls are opened - they are not opened during the 1000 years!
WHAT DOES THE GB REALLY TEACH? - w10 4/15 p. 11 par. 17 - "How will Jehovah use his holy spirit in the coming new world? That spirit will be the force behind the new scrolls that will be opened at that time. (Rev. 20:12) What will these contain? Evidently, Jehovah’s detailed requirements for us during the thousand years."
Which part of 'everlasting' is difficult to understand??????????
So much for 'everlasting' life or destruction - neither is true???????????
The Bethel lurkers spying on this website should have a word with the boys on the Writing Committee, and suggest that they come up with some new"clarifications" before the next Annual Meeting!

Watchtower admonitions against unofficial pro-JW websites
by Londo111 ina friend of mine asked, "do you recall a watchtower or km that said the jw's are not suppose to read, or post information in defense of the watchtower on their own personal website or anyone elses website?".
of course, there is the july 15, 2011 watchtower: what is involved in avoiding false teachers?
we do not receive them into our homes or greet them.

@ WIZARDCA -
The truth is that the Org has recognised for several years that the Internet represents the single greatest threat to its contined growth/existence/income, therefore it has repeatedly issued strong 'direction' to the flock to avoid certain websites. However, with the introduction of JW.ORG, the direction has become unambiguous - "If you are loyal Witnesses, you will not visit any website other than JW.ORG for information on the Org or Bible research." Looking ahead, (because more & more are seeing the skeletons in the WTBTS cupboard) I genuinely believe that an edict will be issued from the GB soooooooon, stating that visiting websites which feature criticism of "God's direct channel of communication on earth" will be viewed as being no different from associating with apostates, thereby rendering the individual liable to disciplinary/disfellowshipping proceedings.

How I recently handled JWs at my door
by Christian guy inthe jws stopped by my house a couple weeks ago on a saturday morning.
i knew that with others most likely waiting for them out in the car they probably did not then have much time to engage in any serious conversation.
so i let them talk while i feigned interest in what they had to say.

Welcome Christian Guy!
Very much appreciated your Scriptural reasoning with the Witnesses. Planting seeds is the best we can do.
The Blue Letter Bible describes the Greek word basileia as meaning " royal power, kingship, dominion, rule - not to be confused with an actual kingdom but rather the right or authority to rule over a kingdom."
Simply put, when reading the word 'kingdom' in the Bible, it is simpler to understand it as speaking of a kingship - Christ's kingship!
Vine's Expository Dictionary says, Kingdom: is primarily an abstract noun, denoting "sovereignty, royal power, dominion," e.g., Rev 17:18, translated "(which) reigneth," lit., "hath a kingdom" (RV marg.); then, by metonymy, a concrete noun, denoting the territory or people over whom a king rules, e.g., Mat 4:8; Mar 3:24. It is used especially of the "kingdom" of God and of Christ.
